This EP was created just before Xmas 2013. Some of the techniques I used included sampling my own catalogue, pitch shifting vocals, found sound and recording a lot of the chords with a midi keyboard which gave me a lot of flexibility with the song, allowing me to get more emotion into the recording. Vocally there's a demonstration of all my ranges from spoken, baritone up to falsetto and in some cases a combination. Lyrically I was dealing with the realities of 2013 but at the same time looking forward. I want to create a rush of emotion with my music…when I listen to this ep I am hit by tidal waves of feeling. With each new album I aim to refine that: to draw a clearer line between myself and the listener. I called the EP 'Timeslip' after the name of one of my favourite paintings by Beryl Stockbridge my grandmother.
